Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how MockLadder, operated by Nerddevs Ltd ("we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use our website, mobile app, and related services (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: name, email address and/or phone number, password (stored only as a secure hash), or your Google/Apple sign-in identity.
  • Test data: your answers in Listening and Reading, your Writing responses, and your goal band if you set one.
  • Speaking recordings: audio recordings of your Speaking answers, made with your microphone during a mock test.
  • Payment information: pack, price, currency, date and transaction reference. Card details are entered on Paddle's checkout and are handled by Paddle; we do not receive or store your full card number. For bKash payments we receive the transaction ID and the paying bKash number.
  • Communication data: information you give us when you contact us or request a refund.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and log data: device type, browser, operating system, IP address, approximate country (used to suggest a payment method), pages visited, and time of access.
  • Recording technical data: audio format, duration and device type, to make recordings work reliably.
  • Usage data: which tests you took, timing, and how you use the Service.

1.3 Results We Create

Band scores, section scores and written feedback generated for your attempts.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Service delivery: to run mock tests, save your progress, and show your results.
  • Scoring and feedback: to score your Writing and Speaking, including with automated (AI) assessment providers.
  • Payments: to process purchases and refunds and keep accounting records.
  • Authentication and security: to verify your identity, protect your account, and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • Communication: to send results-ready notices, service messages, and — where allowed — reminders about the Service, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.
  • Improvement: to understand usage and improve our tests and scoring.
  • Legal compliance: to comply with applicable laws.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

  • With service providers who help us run the Service, under confidentiality obligations: cloud hosting and storage; content delivery and security (Cloudflare); automated assessment of Writing and Speaking (Google Gemini and Microsoft Azure Speech); email delivery (Mailgun); SMS delivery; and payments (Paddle as merchant of record for card payments, and bKash).
  • For legal reasons: if required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request.
  • In a business transfer: as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • With your consent.

4. Data Storage and Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit (TLS), secure authentication, access controls, and private storage for recordings. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

  • Account data: kept while your account is active and deleted when you ask us to delete your account, subject to legal requirements.
  • Speaking recordings: automatically deleted 90 days after upload. Your scores and written feedback remain in your account.
  • Test answers and results: kept while your account is active so you can review your progress.
  • Payment records: kept as long as required for accounting and legal purposes.
  • Log data: kept for up to 12 months for security purposes.
  • Backups: may be kept for up to 30 days after deletion for disaster recovery.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent. You can unsubscribe from reminder emails using the link in each email. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@nerddevs.com.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use essential cookies and local storage for sign-in, security, language choice and core functionality, and may use analytics to understand how the Service is used. You can manage cookies in your browser; disabling essential cookies may stop parts of the Service from working.

8. Third-Party Services

Sign-in with Google or Apple, and payment through Paddle or bKash, are provided by those companies under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to read them.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for users aged 16 and over; users under 18 should use it with a parent's or guardian's consent. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including by our service providers. We take appropriate safeguards so that your information is protected in line with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and notify you of significant changes by email or through the Service.
